February 26, 1688 to March 23, 1688 Engagement of Pierre Jeanson , stone mason, by Monseigneur Jean-baptiste de Lacroix bishop of Quebec, with the Seminar of the Foreign missions street of the Vat in Paris.

Engagement lasts 3 year as from his arrival to Quebec. His pledges are 120 pounds per year. Pierre Janson commits himself working for the Bishop under the control and the direction of Hilaire Bernard of the River architect in the masonry works for the Bishop.

Mémoire of Mr Hilaire Bernard (Sieur de LaRivière) concerning the expenditure caused by the engagement of professionals coming from France.

Expenditure concerning Pierre Janson , stone mason:

24 books for linens and clothes; 18 pounds for the voyage from Paris to the Small rock; 77 pounds 13 grounds for the passage?; 21 pounds 10 grounds in Canada.

Gone for the construction of two doors of the fortifications of the town of Quebec, between Mr. de Frontenac , Governor; and Hilaire Bernard (Sieur de LaRivière) and François of Joüe for the door St-Jean and Jean Lerouge and Pierre Janson for the St-Louis door.
The plan of the St-Louis door was drawn up per M. Boisberthelot de Beaucours.

The contract gave three weeks to the contractors to do the work.

The price is 2,300 pounds. The first Saint-Louis door existed until 1878.
